A Single Spark
By Evan Visher
A single spark and the world bursts into flame
A single spark gives evil a name
A world united to fight those to blame
And drums begin to beat as Death plays his game
The world goes blind as we trade an eye for an eye
When we eagerly line up in order to die
As friends and family disappear
The powerful make us dance with strings of fear
But soon outcasts will begin to douse the fire
But cities burn, and the flames just get higher
Children marching into fire with faces painted red
Then we find ourselves in the fields of the dead
The fire begins to shrink and our hatred starts to fade
We look at the scorched world and the price we paid
Bodies sent home as the ocean fills with tears
And the fire’s end is here
On the scorched soil we begin to rebuild
With fields soaked in blood of those that were killed
We swear to fight all things evil and dark
But only until the next tiny spark
